the challenges

Flexibility is always a challenge with publicaiton design. With the ‘Rehumanizing Healthcare’ spread above, for example, a total of 4 pages was designated for this particular article. The story itself was very short, and being given such few photos to utilize, I had to get creative. I dedicated almost a half page to a pull-quote, using large typography to fill the space and create a dynamic layout. I also used blocks of color to create contrast and stock imagery to add texture and stick to the theme of the article: healthcare.
